“Give the Gift of Heat” 2025 – Official Rules

Sponsor (“Sponsor” or “Company”)
Lanz Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Inc. (“Lanz Inc.”), Champaign, Illinois. Website: lanzinc.com.

1) Description

The “Give the Gift of Heat” program is a community, nomination-based giveaway open to eligible homeowners in the Lanz Inc. service area. Sponsor will award a Trane forced-air gas furnace (properly sized for the residence) with standard installation to a selected nominee based on need and feasibility. In addition, at Sponsor’s discretion and based on household need, Sponsor may award a residential water heater (equipment provided by Holt Supply) with standard installation to selected nominees. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited.

2) Contest Period

Nominations open: November 1, 2025 at 12:00 AM Central Time
Nominations close: November 30, 2025 at 11:59 PM Central Time
Sponsor intends to complete installations on or before December 23, 2025, subject to inspection, winner cooperation, permitting, and weather/safety conditions.

3) Eligibility

• Open to legal U.S. residents who are 18+ and homeowners of a residence within the Lanz Inc. service area.

• Employees of Sponsor, their affiliates, advertising/promotional agencies, and their immediate family/household members are not eligible.

• Home must be structurally and mechanically suitable for the prize installation as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.
  

4) How to Enter

Submit a nomination via the online form at https://lanzinc.com/about-us/community/furnace-giveaway/ during the Contest Period, including:

• Nominee’s full name, address, phone, email

• Confirmation of homeownership and location within service area

• A brief description of the nominee’s situation and why they should be selected

By entering, nominators and nominees consent to be contacted by Sponsor by phone, email, and/or text regarding this program. Message/data rates may apply; see privacy policy.

5) Selection & Verification

This is a judged community program, not a random drawing. A panel appointed by Sponsor will evaluate eligible nominations using criteria such as demonstrated need and the feasibility & safety of installation.

Sponsor will conduct home inspections of finalists to verify eligibility and feasibility. 

Finalists/winners must:

• Provide proof of homeownership and homeowner’s insurance

• Sign required affidavit/release and publicity consent

• Complete and return a W-9; prize value may be reported on a Form 1099-MISC

• Permit reasonable access during business hours on consecutive days per Sponsor’s schedule; secure any HOA approvals

If a potential winner cannot be reached within 72 hours, fails to timely complete verification, or the home is deemed unsuitable or unsafe, Sponsor may select an alternate.

6) Prizes & Installation Scope

A) Furnace Grand Prize

• Equipment: Trane single-stage gas furnace, System model and specifications will be determined by Sponsor based on the property’s heating and cooling needs and installation eligibility.
• Included (“standard installation”): basic thermostat, necessary venting and gas connections within 10 linear feet of existing utilities, standard sheet-metal transitions, condensate drain, permits/inspection, haul-away of old equipment, and standard warranty registration.

• Excluded: ductwork repairs/alterations, zoning, asbestos/lead abatement, chimney relining beyond standard venting, structural modifications, electrical panel upgrades or new circuits beyond standard low-voltage connection, fuel-type conversions, attic platforms, condensate pumps if required, and any code corrections unrelated to the furnace replacement.

• Maximum Retail Value (MRV): up to $6,000. Any scope exceeding MRV or outside “Included” is the homeowner’s responsibility unless Sponsor agrees in writing.

B) Holt Supply Water Heater Award

• Equipment: Residential gas or electric tank water heater (capacity based on home need), equipment provided by Holt Supply.

• Included/Excluded: Standard installation inclusions/exclusions comparable to furnace section; MRV up to $1200 each.

• Selection is based on nomination merit and household need; award may be given to the furnace winner or to separate nominees.

Prizes are non-transferable, have no cash value, and must be installed within 90 days of winner notification unless Sponsor extends in writing.

7) Odds; Compliance

Odds depend on the number and quality of eligible nominations and feasibility outcomes. All federal, state, and local laws apply.

8) Publicity; Content License

By participating, nominators and nominees grant Sponsor and its affiliates a perpetual, royalty-free license to use names, likenesses, photographs, stories, testimonials, and before/after images in any media for promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.

9) Taxes

Winners are responsible for all taxes, fees, and any costs not expressly included. Sponsor may issue an IRS Form 1099-MISC for the MRV.

10) Conduct; Termination

Sponsor may disqualify any entrant who tampers with the process or violates these Rules. If fraud, technical failures, force majeure, or any event beyond Sponsor’s control impairs the program’s integrity or feasibility, Sponsor may modify, suspend, or terminate and, if feasible, select winners from eligible, unaffected nominations.

11) Release; Limitation of Liability

By participating, entrants release and hold harmless Sponsor, their affiliates, and each of their officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims arising out of participation or prize use/installation, except to the extent caused by Sponsor’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.

12) Privacy

Information collected is subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy at lanzinc.com/privacy-policy. Entrants consent to communications about this program; you may reply STOP to opt-out of SMS.

13) Winner Announcement

Sponsor intends to notify selected winner(s) by phone/email prior to December 15, 2025, and announce on Sponsor’s website and social media after verification.
