Troy Lanz - President
Troy began his career in heating and cooling working for a contractor in 1985, where he delivered parts and supplies to employees on job sites. He worked his way through the ranks in several different capacities learning the trade from top to bottom. He wanted more, though. His passion for great customer service shaped his vision for starting his own business.
In 2002, Troy made the commitment and opened Lanz Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Inc. He started with himself and one part-time employee. His strong work ethic and focus quickly paid off. Troy continued to increase business as well as the number of employees, adding the service division in 2005 and plumbing shortly after in 2006.
Troy's work ethic and strong Christian values continue to impact those around him. Troy is very active in his church and has taken many mission trips to offer help and share his faith with those in need. Troy and his wife Kathleen live in Fairbury, Illinois and they have five children. Troy's hobbies include traveling, boating, and perfecting his skills on the grill.
Kathleen Lanz - Vice President
Kathleen began her heating and cooling contractor career in early 2002 when, along with her husband Troy, they struck out on their own and started Lanz Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Inc. Kathleen's career started out as part-time and quickly turned full-time as they added additional divisions to better serve their clients.
In 2005, a service division was added followed by a plumbing division in 2006 and an underground solutions division in 2016. Kathleen has served as Vice President and CFO for Lanz Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Inc. since its beginning in 2002. Kathleen is very active in her church and enjoys yearly mission trips. Kathleen enjoys spending family time with her 5 children and 6 grandchildren. Kathleen's hobbies include traveling and boating.
Eric Jordan - HVAC Project Manager
Eric Jordan has been with Lanz Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Inc. since 2008. He lives in Westville with his wife and children. He came to Lanz, Inc. with an extensive amount of experience in management, due to many years as a facilities manager at a large distribution center in the area.
He has a passion for public speaking and has given numerous talks to organizations in the area. He also has a passion for serving and giving back to the community, he coaches youth soccer and softball and spent many years as a volunteer firefighter. When he has spare time he enjoys reading about World War 2 history. Whether it be at work or in his volunteering, Eric's desire to help others is always apparent.
Wes Ifft - Replacement Division Manager
Wes started in the HVAC field in 2001. Since that time, he has been a service technician, service manager, and installer, and currently oversees our residential replacement team. Wes makes sure our customers receive not only what they want, but the system they need to maximize their investment and provide the highest level of comfort in their home.
Wes's passion for his job includes his desire to make sure things are done correctly and in a timely manner. His interests include spending time with family, volunteering at Church, and going on mission trips. He lives with his wife and three children in Gibson City, IL., and has been an integral part of the Lanz Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Inc. team since 2007.
David Mueller - Plumbing Project Estimator
David started his plumbing career in 1998. He started as an apprentice and he perfected his trade until earning his state license in 2004. David joined the Lanz Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Inc. team in 2006 and established our plumbing division. David's attention to detail, high moral character, and easy-going personality make it easy for his customers to do business with him.
He has designed and installed complete plumbing systems for single-family homes, commercial spaces, and multi-unit apartment buildings. David's hobbies include fishing, reading, and spending time with his family. David is very active with his church family as well and enjoys going on mission trips and work trips. David lives with his wife and five daughters.
Walt Edelman - HVAC Division Manager
Walt's career began in construction in 1999. He started doing carpentry, building new homes. In 2004, he became a project manager for a builder where he was responsible for projects from start to finish. Walt brought his wealth of knowledge to Lanz Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Inc. in 2005. Walt began as an installer and eventually was promoted to division manager.
Walt is very conscientious about all his projects, regardless of scope or size, which allows him to not only meet but exceed the customer's expectations on a daily basis. Walt's faith is a big part of his life and he is very active in leadership at his church. Walt's interests include spending time with his family and helping others.
Melissa Lane - Office Manager and Human Resources
Melissa started working for Lanz Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Inc. in 2015 as our residential sales coordinator. Melissa has since transitioned into the role of Office Manager and Human Resources as she has demonstrated consistent leadership & continuous improvement going above and beyond for customers and teammates. Melissa and her husband, both USAF Veterans, returned to Illinois after their service and are involved in the community. Melissa enjoys cooking, thrifting, and teaching Sunday School each week.
Michael Savage - Comfort Consultant
Michael started working with Lanz Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Inc. in 2017 as a comfort consultant. He has attended training courses throughout the years, which include but are not limited to, duct sizing, load calculations, and comfort institute training. Michael is an expert in residential heating & cooling application and design.
Michael grew up in St. Louis, MO area and relocated to the Champaign-Urbana area in 2009. Prior to Lanz Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Inc. Michael was a sales manager with a local flooring company. Michael has worked in customer service for about 20 years. Michael enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife, Maegan, and their 3 children. He continues to learn and grow in his academic studies, as well as his HVAC knowledge with our company.
Thomas Jordan - Residential Replacement Technician
Thomas grew up in Westville, IL, and graduated from Westville High School in 2011. He then attended Danville Area Community College and received his associate's degree in science and the arts. He began working in the parts room at Lanz Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Inc. in 2013. Thomas kept inventory and assisted with various jobs before joining the HVAC service department one year later.
Thomas was a service technician for four years prior to moving to the residential replacement division in 2018 where he is the final touch technician. His high attention to detail as well as his relentless desire to provide excellent customer service ensures that Lanz Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Inc. customers receive the highest level of service in the industry. In his spare time, Thomas enjoys playing basketball, watching Netflix, and playing video games.
Kurt Fletcher - Comfort Consultant
Kurt started working with Lanz in 2012 as a Comfort Consultant. He has attended training courses throughout the year, which include but are not limited to Duct sizing, Load calculations, and Comfort Institute Training. Kurt is an expert in residential heating & cooling application and design. Kurt grew up in the Champaign, Illinois area where he spent 9 years as a customer consultant in the automotive industry. He has spent time in Carbondale, Illinois where he attended Southern Illinois University. He continues to learn and grow in his academic studies, as well as his HVAC knowledge with our company. Kurt enjoys playing golf and bowling.
Jesse Stephens - Underground Solutions Manager
Jesse Stephens has been working in the underground utilities, infrastructure, and plumbing industry for over 25 years. He has been involved in all phases from building subdivisions to residential plumbing. He helped bring the pipe bursting and pipe lining technology to our area and has been lining pipes for over 15 years. As the founding leader of Underground Solutions, he enjoys all aspects of the department from sales, operations, and training new employees. He enjoys helping people and being with his family. He is married to Tina and they have three children.
Mitchell Lanz - New Construction Administrator
Scrapping HVAC units and working around the shop in 2006 was Mitchell’s entry into the trade, growing into a part time role in the HVAC new construction department in 2014. After graduation in 2017 Mitchell attended Parkland and received an Associates in Business Management. Joining Lanz full time in 2018 Mitchell has developed into a job foreman and completing 3 large projects before growing into the New Construction Administrator in 2022. Mitchell enjoys snowboarding, boating, and grilling.
Trevor Lanz - New Construction Plumbing Manager
2006 began Trevor's career in the Plumbing trade. Assisting in scrapping HVAC units and working around the shop led Trevor to joining full time in 2012. Beginning as an entry level plumber and working through all the phases of projects small and large he began to oversee projects in 2014, Trevor earned his plumbing license in 2016 and began to run commercial and residential remodels as well as new construction houses. He has successfully managed over 10 large multi-family plumbing construction projects. Leading up to five projects at a time from 2018-2022. Trevor has welcomed his first child in the fall of 2023 and enjoys camping, boating, and grilling.
Ryan Cain - Service Manager
After graduation in 1998 from Mahomet Seymour High School Ryan joined the Marines until 2003. Ryan is excited to bring 20 years of customer service experience to Lanz and has a passion for adding value to the customer experience. Ryan is an avid sports fan and dedicated father to his 2 daughters.
Brandon Kinney - Drain Cleaning Manager
Brandon has been in the sewer and drain field for nearly 20 years. Brandon joined Lanz in 2019, and since then has been committed to best assist customers by diagnosing unseen underground sewer and drain issues, and delivering solutions. Developing a team of sewer and drain specialists that carry over 100 years of combined experience, customers can always count on honest information and solutions. Brandon has been married for over 20 years and has 3 children.
