Customer explained that the system would make the noise when it was running at 73% capacity. I ran the system at 73% in test mode and let it run for 10-15 minutes. After letting it run I forced it into defrost mode. When it went into defrost mode, it started making the whistling sound. The customer said it happens only in defrost and when the air conditioner is running. I set the compressor rpm setting at the CDA from high to medium. The thermostat did not have a quiet mode setting which is what we wanted to try but lowering the rpm setting does the same thing. We will let the system run like this for a few days and have the manufacturer come out for a site visit as soon as they are available.
I replaced a relay 2 and remade damaged wire connections. I ran the system and verified that the heat kit was pulling 22 amps with a delta t of 30+ degrees. The system is now working properly.
Customer reported system vibrating very loudly Arrived on site and inspected unit . System blower motor is vibrating as it runs. Appears to be due to age the Amra on the blower motor is very good and within spec. It is, however vibrating. As I inspected the ductwork, the customer pointed out a few spots where she added some tape to try and mitigate the vibration and the possible air leakage on the seam of the ductwork. I investigated this piece of the ductwork and found that a part of it is warping and will under the right circumstances vibrate very loudly with the airflow. I bent this ductwork outward very slightly however it doesn’t take much pressure to put it back in its old place. I went back to the workshop and got some rigid pieces of metal to add onto the ductwork to prevent this vibration. The customer also mentioned that there were a few hose clamps on the condensate trap, which the previous technician had said were not necessary. I investigated this and found that th
I completed a follow-up visit on a 60k BTU 90% Upflow Furnace with a gas pressure of 3.45 inWC and a static pressure of .65. The Delta T was 64-97, and the cooling airflow was 2.5 Ton Single Stage Cooling. The tap was 3 at .5/960 cfm/380 cfm/ton.
The customer called to follow up on a heat pump and furnace installation. The gas furnace pressure was 3.40 in WC, and the static pressure was .75. The delta T was 68-112. The heat pump heating suction was 70, the liquid was 275, and the delta T was 68-83. The system is working properly at this time.
I found a weak flame signal in the furnace, so I relocated the blower capacitor and performed maintenance on the heating system, including cleaning and testing components. I ran the furnace for 30 minutes without any issues. I recommended replacing the current thermostat due to its poor condition. A quote for a new T4 pro thermostat was sent. The customer signed up for our Lanz Blue Comfort Family Plan today.
I am an HVAC contractor. I completed an annual backflow test on the fire suppression system and potable water supply. The fire suppression system passed inspection, but the double check failed. The RPZ on the potable water supply failed, and the control valve and second check valve also failed. I will need to source a rebuild kit and return to the site to make repairs. I measured for a replacement RPZ and will need to order parts and schedule a time to return.
I arrived at the customer's house to find that the system was not operating. I checked the capacitor and found that it was reading 4.8 of 5. I cycled the system and tried it again, and this time the blower started. I tested the filter and found that it was extremely dirty. I recommended to the customer to change the filter as soon as possible, and I also recommended replacing the blower motor. I will look into blower availability and pricing for the customer.
I was called to a home to repair a broken air conditioner. Upon arrival, I found that the unit was not keeping up with the arrival temperature. I found that the filter was dirty and needed to be replaced. I also found that the electric heat strip had failed and needed to be replaced. After replacing the heating element, the system is now operating properly.
I arrived at a clogged main sewer line backing up into a basement utility sink. I used a rod to clear the blockage and then accessed the line through a 3" clean out in the basement. I ran a 3/4 cable F6 cutter for 120 feet to clear the roots causing the blockage. The post-cleaning camera inspection showed 3 low spots and multiple points of root infiltration, but no other structural issues. I replaced the 3" plug with an expandable plug and tested for leaks. I cleaned up the work area. I uploaded videos to Ridgid Connect.

Customer is searching for an HVAC contractor due to a furnace that is not turning on. Upon arrival, the technician found that there was a pressure switch error. Customer searching for Air conditioning repair due to water leaking from the unit. Upon arrival the technician found a large area in a storage closet was wet where the flooring was soaked all the way through. It is difficult to determine at this time, whether the condensation line is leaking or the evaporator coil drain pan is cracked. Recommended replacing the first section of drain line through the floor and inspecting evap coil. Checked system pressure to see if EVAP coil was freezing and thawing out causing the large amount of water, system may be low on R-22. Also recommend a full system tune up to determine this. Will need another tech to come out with me to make repair. Will call to schedule.
Customer searching for Air conditioning repair due to system not cooling. Upon arrival the technician observed that the system was off. The customer explained that it just didn’t seem to be cooling. Upon running the system, the fan and motor were working but it did not cool. Delta t was only 4 degrees. Refrigerant pressures were checked and they were low at 20 and 141. Superheat was 76, subcooling was 2, evaporator temperature was -6 degrees. Options were discussed with the customer and they decided to get an estimate for replacement since it is at least 15 years old and is an R22 unit. An appointment was set up for an estimate.

The technician arrived to diagnose a toilet leaking at the base. Customer said they used toilet 6 or 7 times and the toilet clogged. After toilet clogged it started leaking at the base again indicating that the clog possibly pushed the wax ring out. Pulled toilet and found wax ring rolled back from flange indicating when the toilet backed up it pushed the wax ring away from flange. Installed new jumbo wax ring and set toilet. Turned water in to toilet and put dye tablets in tank. Once tank water was blue flushed the toilet 10 times and saw no blue water leak from base indicating the wax ring is making a proper seal. Customer mentioned that toilet backs up often. When resetting the toilet the first time found white sticky substance leaving a thick build-up in the drain line. There was still some of the white substance left around the flange. Substance most likely got washed down further into the sewer line possibly building up and blocking drain, causing frequent clogs on toilet. The te
