HVAC - Furnace Problem, Tech arrived and was informed that the boilers emergency switch was found off and after an employee had turned it back on the system came on but had a strange sound. Tech inspected the unit and found that the low water cutoff was shorted out and not reading the water level. When the level dropped it should have shut down but did not, instead it kept firing and boiled out the water creating steam which damaged the burner assembly. Tech spoke with customer and let them know they need to replace the low water cutoff and burner assembly. Replaced low water cutoff & burner assembly after the furnace boiled out water due to a short.
