I completed a heating tune-up on a Trane Geothermal system.
Upon arrival, the technician performed A/C maintenance. Found a bad condensing unit capacitor. Replaced capacitor. Found the system low on refrigerant. Added 1 lb r-22. Ensured proper operation and is now reaching set temps.
Replaced capacitor. Cleared and treated condensate drain. System is operating properly at this time.
Customer is searching for furnace repair due to furnace not turning on. The technician found batteries in the thermostat were drained and run capacitor on the blower motor already out of specs reading 4 out of 7,5 mfd. changed the batteries and replaced the run capacitor. Tested operations by running the system in cooling and heating mode for about 15 minutes. I’m sending customer a quote on replacing the rotten flue pipe between chimney and inducer. It will need (2) 6” elbows (1) transition from 7 to 6” and around 8 feet off duct. ( refer to picture in attachments) if customer approves it, this repair can be scheduled at same time with the AC maintenance. I applied 15% off to today’s work due to customer has signed up for Blue comfort family plan.
