Q: Do you offer trenchless sewer repair in Champaign County?

Yes. Lanz, Inc. provides trenchless pipelining , pipe bursting, and related underground solutions throughout central Illinois.

Question 1

Is trenchless sewer repair as durable as a new pipe?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A cured-in-place liner creates a seamless new pipe inside the old one and is built to last for decades, comparable to a full replacement.

Question 2

How long does trenchless sewer repair take?

Accepted Answer

Many jobs are completed in a single day, compared with the several days a full excavation can require.

Question 3

Does trenchless repair require any digging at all?

Accepted Answer

Usually just one or two small access points, often at an existing cleanout, rather than a trench across the property.

Question 4

How do I know if my pipe can be lined or needs bursting?

Accepted Answer

A camera inspection shows the pipe's condition. Lining works for cracked, leaking, or root-damaged pipes, while a fully collapsed line typically needs bursting.

Question 5

Do you offer trenchless sewer repair in Champaign County?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Lanz, Inc. provides trenchless pipelining, pipe bursting, and related underground solutions throughout central Illinois.

Question 6

How long does a geothermal system last?

Accepted Answer

The indoor heat pump commonly lasts 20 to 25 years, while the buried ground loop can last 50 years or more, which is well beyond the lifespan of a typical furnace or air conditioner.

Question 7

Does geothermal work in cold central Illinois winters?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Because the loop draws from the stable ground temperature below the frost line rather than the freezing outdoor air, geothermal keeps working efficiently even during our coldest stretches.

Question 8

Do I need a lot of land for geothermal?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily. Horizontal loops use more space and suit rural and larger lots, but vertical loops are drilled deep and work well on smaller city lots where yard space is limited.

Question 9

Is a geothermal system noisy?

Accepted Answer

No. There is no large outdoor condenser, so geothermal runs quietly compared to conventional air conditioning.

Question 10

Why is my upstairs so much hotter than my downstairs?

Accepted Answer

Warm air rises and collects on the upper floor, and the second floor also absorbs heat from the sun-baked roof and attic. Combined with a single-zone system that satisfies the downstairs first, this leaves the upstairs several degrees warmer.

Question 11

Will closing vents downstairs push more air upstairs?

Accepted Answer

Not usually. Closing too many vents can raise pressure in the ductwork and actually reduce overall airflow, which can make the problem worse and strain your system. It is better to have the system balanced by a professional.

Question 12

Is a mini-split or a zoning system better for a hot upstairs?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your home. Zoning is ideal when you want separate control of the existing system across floors, while a ductless mini-split is often the better choice for a single problem room or an area without good ductwork. We can help you compare the two.

Question 13

Could my air conditioner just be too small?

Accepted Answer

It is possible. An undersized or aging system will struggle during heat waves. A room-by-room evaluation will tell you whether the issue is sizing, airflow, or something else.
