Meet Our Team
TROY LANZ – PRESIDENT
Troy began his career in heating and cooling working for a contractor in 1985, where he delivered parts and supplies to employees on jobsites. He worked his way through the ranks, in several different capacities learning the trade from top to bottom. He wanted more, though. His passion for great customer service shaped his vision for starting his own business. In 2002, Troy made the commitment, and opened Lanz, Inc. He started with himself, and one part time employee. His strong work ethic and focus quickly paid off. Troy continued to increase business as well as the number of employees, adding the service division in 2005, and plumbing shortly after in 2006. Troy’s work ethic and strong Christian values continue to impact those around him. Troy is very active in his church, and has taken many mission trips to offer help and share his faith with those in need. Troy and his wife Kathleen live in Strawn, Illinois and they have five children. Troy’s hobbies include traveling, boating, and perfecting his skills on the grill.
KATHLEEN LANZ – VICE PRESIDENT
Kathleen began her career in the heating and cooling contractor world in early 2002 when, along with her husband Troy, they struck out on their own and started Lanz, Inc. Kathleen’s career started out as part-time and quickly turned full-time as they added additional divisions to better serve their clients. In 2005, a service division was added followed by a plumbing division in 2006 and an underground solutions division in 2016. Kathleen has served as Vice President and CFO for Lanz, Inc. since it’s beginning in 2002. Kathleen is very active in her church and enjoys yearly mission trips. Kathleen enjoys spending family time with her 5 children and 2 grandchildren. Kathleen’s hobbies include traveling and boating.
ERIC JORDAN – HVAC PROJECT MANAGER
Eric Jordan has been with Lanz, Inc. since 2008. He lives in Westville with his wife and 3 children. He came to Lanz, Inc. with an extensive amount of experience in management, due to many years as a facilities manager at a large distribution center in the area. Eric manages our service division and handles our commercial replacements. He has a passion for public speaking and has given numerous talks to organizations in the area. He also has a passion for serving and giving back to the community, he coaches youth soccer and softball, and spent many years as a volunteer firefighter. When he has spare time he enjoys reading about World War 2 history. Whether it be at work or in his volunteering, Eric’s desire to help others is always apparent.
WES IFFT – REPLACEMENT DIVISION MANAGER
Wes started in the HVAC field in 2001. Since that time, he has been a service technician, service manager, installer, and currently oversees our residential replacement team. Wes makes sure our customers receive not only what they want, but the system they need to maximize their investment and provide the highest level of comfort in their home. Wes’s passion about his job includes his desire to make sure things are done correctly and in a timely manner. His interests include spending time with family, volunteering at Church, and going on mission trips. He lives with his wife and three children in Gibson City, IL., and has been an integral part of the Lanz, Inc. team since 2007.
DAVID MUELLER – PLUMBING DIVISION MANAGER
David started his plumbing career in 1998. He started as an apprentice and he perfected his trade until earning his state license in 2004. David joined the Lanz, Inc. team in 2006 and established our plumbing division. David’s attention to detail, high moral character, and easy-going personality make it easy for his customers to do business with him. He has designed and installed complete plumbing systems for single-family homes, commercial spaces, and multi-unit apartment buildings. David’s hobbies include fishing, reading, and spending time with his family. David is very active with his church family as well, and enjoys going on mission and work trips. David lives in Forrest, IL with his wife and five daughters.
WALT EDELMAN – HVAC DIVISION MANAGER
Walt’s career began in construction in 1999. He started doing carpentry, building new homes. In 2004, he became a project manager for a builder where he was responsible for projects from start to finish. Walt brought his wealth of knowledge to Lanz, Inc. in 2005. Walt began as an installer and eventually was promoted to division manager. Walt is very conscientious about all his projects, regardless of scope or size, which allows him to not only meet, but exceed the customer’s expectations on a daily basis. Walt’s faith is a big part of his life and he is very active in leadership at his church. Walt’s interests include spending time with his family and helping others.
BILL YEAKEL – SERVICE MANAGER
Bill Yeakel joined Lanz, Inc. in May of 2015 after nearly 10 years in the HVAC industry. Bill spent nearly 6 years as a comfort consultant, where he always went above and beyond for his customers by providing them top-notch service, ensuring that they would recommend him to all of their family members and friends. After that, Bill went into the distribution side of HVAC for nearly four years. Bill’s experience and skillset made him a perfect fit here as a service manager. Bill’s burning desire is to create Lanz, inc. customers for life by offering superior service. Bill’s free time is spent with his family, his wife and two daughters. Bill is actively involved in their athletics, being a college basketball player himself. He now resides on the sidelines coaching his girls. Bill is an avid basketball fan and enjoys watching it played at all levels and playing it himself.
MELISSA LANE – RESIDENTIAL SALES COORDINATOR
Melissa started working for Lanz, Inc. in 2015 as our residential sales coordinator. In addition to assisting in the residential replacement department, Melissa is our office manager as she has demonstrated consistent leadership & continuous improvement going above and beyond for customers and teammates. Melissa and her husband, both USAF veterans, returned to Illinois after their service and reside in Tolono with their two children. Melissa enjoys cooking, traveling, and serving in ministry alongside her husband. She teaches Sunday school and enjoys serving in the community when possible.
MICHAEL SAVAGE – COMFORT CONSULTANT
Michael started working with Lanz, Inc. in 2017 as a comfort consultant. He has attended training courses throughout the years, which include but are not limited to, duct sizing, load calculations, and comfort institute training. Michael is an expert in residential heating & cooling application and design. Michael grew up in the St. Louis, MO area and relocated to the Champaign-Urbana area in 2009. Prior to Lanz, Inc. Michael was a sales manager with a local flooring company. Michael has worked in customer service for about 20 years. Michael enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife, Maegan, and their 3 children. He continues to learn and grow in his academic studies, as well as his HVAC knowledge with our company.
THOMAS JORDAN – RESIDENTIAL REPLACEMENT TECHNICIAN
Thomas grew up in Westville, Illinois and graduated from Westville High School in 2011. He then attended Danville Area Community College and received his associate’s degree in science and the arts. He began working in the parts room at Lanz, Inc. in 2013. Thomas kept inventory and assisted on various jobs before joining the HVAC service department one year later. Thomas was a service technician for four years prior to moving to the residential replacement division in 2018 where he is the final touch technician. His high attention to detail as well as his relentless desire to provide excellent customer service ensures that Lanz, Inc. customers receive the highest level of service in the industry. In his spare time, Thomas enjoys playing basketball, watching Netflix, and playing videogames.
