From start to finish they are sharp, on point, absolute pros. I sought out several bids and their salesman was bright, informed, and THOROUGH. I was amazed when he wanted to look in crawl space and in attic. Other folks didn't do that, didn't ask questions he did. He was a problem solver. The big example was suggesting dehumidifier in crawl and it has made a world of difference. He sat down with a computer and went through the numbers. I needed larger return airs, for instance, more flow. Everything made sense. And he was patient when I had him generate multiple bids through my uncertainty and budgeting. These folks fixed several complaints I've had about this house in the 4 years I've been here. The lead install man came and did measurements and scoped out the project before install day came - he was prepared. The gentlemen installing were polite, respectful, sharp. I've had the system a couple weeks and the whole thing has changed the atmosphere in my home. Humidity control, proper sized AC and furnace and wow, what difference. I've already suggested this company to a couple other friends and family. It is rare in 2025 to find absolutely serious, on point, service-oriented folks like this. Had a faucet that stopped working and water was draining continuously. Made a call early morning and a receptionist took call. Had someone come in same day from Lanz by noon. Boston replaced my dripping bathtub/shower valve, which took four hours and involved cutting new access panels, cutting and fitting new pipe, going in and out of the crawl space. He did meticulous work and was very efficient, explained everything; bathroom vastly improved. I highly recommend him and lanz. Beautiful job!

AC system went down in the middle of a heat wave. After multiple refrigerant leaks and years of issues, I decided to get a full furnace/AC replacement. Lanz was quick to come out, assess the system, and provide a quote. Despite being swamped due to the heat wave, Lanz's comfort consultant, Kurt, spent as much time as needed to take measurements, listen to concerns, and provide all of the options. After getting two other quotes, Lanz fell about in the middle for cost, but their thorough explanation of options and responsiveness to questions and concerns put them over the edge. Just as an example, after discussing with me how my old system was working, Lanz actually took the time to properly size the system, while competitors tried to upsize the AC system despite issues with short cycling in the past. All work was completed in a morning for a full furnace/AC replacement, and the team was professional. The new system has been working great, and I'm happy I ended up choosing Lanz.

This service was timely and reasonable. The service person was very polite and efficient, having the part that needed replacing on our AC already without having to go searching for it; was prepared for what might need fixing on our appliance. He explained what had been done, and sent a written explanation along with an itemized receipt for future reference, which is much appreciated.
I talked to Shannon about having my toilet back up looked at. It was a Friday early morning and with in an hour he had someone out. They took care of my inside back up and checked the outside sewer. They found an issue that could have turned excessively costly had it not been found. I am beyond thrilled with the quick and efficient service. Lanz comes every 6mo to perform maintenance on our HVAC system that was installed in June of 2022 based on the service plan we purchased. They contact us to schedule the appointments. They are flexible to accommodate our schedule. They communicate clearly. And provide friendly service while the work is done. They make sure all our questions and concerns are answered before they leave. We are very satisfied with the HVAC system and their service to date.
Be cautious when dealing with this company. We were surprised by multiple expensive fees that were not disclosed upfront when we scheduled our appointment. Transparency is important, and unfortunately, that was lacking in our experience.
The people at Lanz had previously been very helpful and competent. However, we have a leak in a pipe with hot water, and we are without water and heat for the past four days, and they have promised and promised without delivering. We wait and wait for the promised service and they never respond. The temperature in the house is in the low 50s and we are miserable.

This was my first experience with Lanz Plumbing, Heating & Cooling. They were at my house in less than an hour after my call to see why my A/C wasn't working on one of our 90 degree days. They found the problem and were able to fix while here. The cost was very reasonable. I will highly recommend Lanz!!
7/28/25We had Lanz install a new heating and air system in our home. Everyone was punctual and professional and prepared! The installation crew (Kevin, Cody, and Ethan) took the time and effort to protect our carpet with floor covering as well as the rest of our property. After the installation the only evidence that they were even there was a new furnace and air conditioner that works perfectly. We have used Lanz for all services that they offer including Plumbing, Underground Solutions and Drain Cleaning. We will continue to use their services and make referrals.5/20/24Thank you, Matt! We had a great experience getting a new AC/ Furnace system installed. Definitely more expensive than some others, but worth it so far. Kurt and Thomas were very professional, helpful, and knowledgeable.
On one of the hottest heat waves in the Midwest, my AC gave out. Even while busy dealing with everyone’s dying ACs, Lanz fit me in and fixed my AC that day. 30 minutes max, super fast. The tech was respectful and explained what the problem was to me.

The gentleman who came to deal with my issue (leaky toilet, identifying whole house water shut off) was named Boston Williams. What a great guy! He was extremely thorough, knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. He gave us multiple opportunities to ask queations and gave us great information. I try to support local since I live in Coles County, but my recent service from locals was less than satisfactory. Lanz Heating and Cooling was called because the box on my furnace needed replacing. Greg came out, assessed the situation, gave me a quote and even put a different filter on the furnace that was much more efficient and easy to install. What a difference.
Our tub faucet wasn’t shutting off all the way and the plumber (I didn’t catch his name) came in a fixed it! He was really fast too! I will say, the faucet knob looks a tad wonky but that may be what these old knobs do. Thank you Lanz!

We’re really happy so far with our new system from Lanz! The touchscreen thermostat is a huge upgrade from our old Nest—it’s much more user-friendly. The house is staying comfortable, even on 90+ degree days, which is a noticeable improvement from our previous setup.We had a small hiccup during payment when I initially tried to use an expired card, but it was quickly resolved. The new card had already arrived—I had just overlooked it.
