I contacted Lanz because I was considering installing up to four mini-split air conditioners on the second floor of my rental house after the tenant asked whether I could have them installed because the upstairs felt too warm.Lanz promptly sent Ty to inspect the house, measure the rooms, and provide an estimate.Instead of immediately preparing a quote, Ty first noticed that several of the upstairs vents were closed. That alone would certainly reduce the airflow from the central air conditioning system. To make sure nothing else was wrong, he carefully inspected the existing HVAC system, checked the attic and ductwork, and measured the temperatures upstairs, downstairs, and outdoors. After a thorough inspection, he concluded that the air conditioning system was working properly and that there was no need to install additional mini-split units.This was a very pleasant surprise.Over the years, I have had several HVAC technicians from different companies inspect various issues at my rental properties. Too often, I have been told that I needed to replace expensive equipment, with estimates ranging from several thousand dollars to well over $10,000. Later, I would ask a handyman to take another look, and in several cases, a simple repair solved the problem and the HVAC system worked perfectly again.Because of those experiences, I truly appreciated Ty's honesty. He could have simply given me a large estimate for installing four new mini-split systems. Instead, he took the time to carefully evaluate the house and honestly told me that I didn't need them.On top of that, even though he spent quite a bit of time evaluating the house, I wasn't charged anything for his visit.That gave me confidence that he was looking out for my best interests, not just trying to make a sale.I'd like to say that Lanz is lucky to have someone like Ty working for them. But perhaps Lanz deserves the credit as well. If Ty's honesty reflects the way Lanz trains its employees, then they have built a company that values integrity over making a quick sale.For that reason, I will definitely call Lanz again whenever I need an honest HVAC inspection or advice. I thought I had a blocked sump pump, some nasty-looking sludge in the basement and some standing water but not a flood, so no emergency, right?It turned out to be a blocked sewer line that was adding water to the basement every time I took a shower, did the dishes, etc, etc……Shannon came within an hour of my after-hours call to Lanz, and spent two hours in the dark in my mosquito-infested driveway restoring my ability to use water. He was pleasant (“They’ll only itch for a little while”) professional, and patient and clear with his answers to all my questions. I appreciate Shannon in particular and would definitely call Lanz again.

Prompt, polite, and professional. My appointment was scheduled quickly, they arrived on time, and were in and out in about an hour. The only thing that concerned me was having to wait for a call back to schedule the appointment, but even that was quicker than expected.

Our tech was great. He definitely knew what he was doing. Courteous, respectful, and communicated what he saw and what he was doing. Very impressed with him. So much so that we decided to sign up for the service plan and also scheduled another service to replace our two bathroom and kitchen sinks this Friday. Yes it was priced more than we liked but it was not out of line compared to everyone else.
